A very busy Melrose Avenue saw a host of excited players from several clubs convene for a mini, mini tournament.
We hosted Widnes, Helsby and a small contingent from Port Sunlight.
The Hoylake hordes ran out overall winners with 2 wins and 3 draws with a keenly fought derby match between Hawks and Harriers also ending in a draw.

The Hawks with Coach Oliver - Jack, Sam W, Sam B, Jayden and Frazer - came out on top in both their games with Frazer and Jayden scavenging and scoring at will. Jack put in some strong runs and the Sams cantered all over the pitch.

The Harriers with Coach Ally - Jack F, Freddie, Michael, Calum, Oliver and Seth - had two very closely fought games against Widnes and Helsby emerging with well-deserved draws. Michael had another great game and our youngest player, Jack, got fully stuck in and took some great tags and had a few coursing runs. Oliver and Calum scored at will and Freddie and Seth used their footwork to great effect.

It was a Weir double in the MoM awards with Seth and Sam taking the well-deserved honours.

Whilst Widnes and Helsby played each other we had a closely fought derby draw and then, for a final flourish. a combined Hawks and Harriers took on a small squad from Port Sunlight and played out another draw.

It was a great day of rugby with yet more satisfying improvement from the Hoylake squad and a fantastic atmosphere in the club afterwards, with upwards of 80 players and their parents enjoying our hospitality.
